Spring Break Work:
Using the videos provided on the blog and your notes answer the following questions.
1. (Unit 1; Natural Texas and its People) How did the environment shape the lifestyles of various Native American groups?
2. (Unit 2; Age of Contact) How would have modern technology helped early explorers in Texas?
3. (Unit 3; Celebrate Freedom Week) In what ways are the Texas Constitution and United States Constitution similiar?
4. (Unit 4; Spanish Colonial Era) How has the Spanish culture influenced the culture of Texas?
5. (Unit 5; Mexican National) What were some of the economic, social and political reasons that Americans moved to Texas ? Keep in mind that Texas was part of Mexico at this time.
6. (Unit 6; Revolution and Republic) What were the causes and effects of the Texas Revolution?
7. (Unit 7; Early Statehood) What were the causes and events leading to Texas annexation?
8. (Unit 8; Texas in the Civil War and Reconstruction) What was life like in Texas during the Civil War?
9. (Unit 9; Cotton, Cattle and Railroads) How did cotton, cattle, and railroads lead to the expansion of the Texas frontier?
10. (Unit 10; The Age of Oil) Why is oil so important today? What everyday products contain petroleum?
